Charlie Vickers is back as Halbrand/Sauron in the highly anticipated second season of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” and fans have coined him “Sexy Sauron” or “Hot Sauron” on social media. As Sauron rises to power and collaborates with Galadriel (played by Morfydd Clark) and Celebrimbor (portrayed by Charles Edwards) to create the Rings of Power, Vickers has become the center of attention for more than just his villainous role.
In an exclusive interview with Filmfare, Vickers reacted to the playful nickname. “Sexy Sauron is certainly a new term that I’ve learned recently. It’s so funny,” he said with a laugh. “But there are some other very sexy characters in the show.”
Vickers continued, “I don’t quite know what to say. I guess it is a part of playing such a popular character. People are going to say what they say, whether good or bad. It’s so cool that we get to keep going and doing what we do to keep telling the story. Anything that fans say as they engage with the show is exciting.”
Season 2 of The Rings of Power also features a returning cast, including Robert Aramayo, Maxim Baldry, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Tyrone Muhafidin, and more. The new season will premiere on August 29, 2024, continuing the epic saga in Middle-Earth.
