Movie About, The Electric State Movie
The visionary directors behind Marvel epic Avengers movies, Anthony and Joe Russo, are taking on a new ambitious sci-fi project with The Electric State. This post-apocalyptic adventure film is adapted from the acclaimed artistic sci-fi universe created by Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag.
Set in an alternate future, the film follows Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown), a teenage girl who embarks on a journey through the desolated American West with a strange but sweet robot in search of her missing brother. She’s joined by a drifter named Keats (Chris Pratt) as they encounter remnants of old-world wonders and face sinister forces.
The unique visuals from Stålenhag’s original graphic novel depicting abandoned landscapes littered with giant machines blend retro-futuristic technology with modern environments. This distinct aesthetic will be brought to life through a talented ensemble cast also featuring Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Jason Alexander, and voice acting from Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, and others.
With the Russo Brothers at the helm alongside writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, longtime collaborators from the Marvel films, The Electric State promises an imaginative and thrilling vision adapted from Stålenhag’s influential artwork. Fans can expect stunning world-building and a gripping human story when it releases on Netflix in 2024.
