Another season, another BIG twist. Season 16 of The Masked Singer is packed with so many surprises and one just popped up in the season premiere. Buffalo turned out not to be a singular singer, but a whole herd of Buffalos!
Throughout The Masked Singer‘s 10-plus seasons, dozens of celebrities, including LeeAnn Rimes, Jesse McCartney, Gladys Knight, Donny Osmond, and T-Pain, have competed on the show under secret identities and complex costumes. For this season, Season 5 winner Nick Lachey was the season ambassador for Buffalo, and he offered quite a diverse set of clues that point all over the place for Buffalos true identity. Who are the Buffalos on The Masked Singer?
Many people think that the trio of Buffalos is the famous a cappella R&B group Boyz II Men composed of Nathan Morris, Wanyá Morris, and Shawn Stockman. With those smooth harmonies on their performance of “(I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight” by Cutting Crew, we strongly feel like this group aligns with the Buffalos.
Other guesses for the group include the Wayan Brothers, but we’re strongly convinced that it’s definitely the 90s boyband because of the clues below.
Betty & Vanna White (Week 1)
Two pictures of Betty and Vanna White were hinted as clues. Boyz II Men wore white in the music video for “Doin’ Just Fine.”
Crown (Week 1)
When the men in black brought out a crown, it seemed to confuse the judges even more. It could be a nod that they’re a cappella and R&B royalty!
Walk of Fame (Week 1)
Boyz II Men received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012.
Slot-Machine Jackpot (Week 1)
A clue for the group included a slot-machine jackpot, and the group just finished a Las Vegas residency recently.
Sitcoms (Week 1)
Nick Lachey said that the group appeared in two of the biggest sitcoms. Boyz II Men had cameos in both The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and How I Met Your Mother, which were the biggest sitcoms of those decades.
